Our Vaccine Philosophy

We, as the providers of Forestream Pediatrics, recognize that maintaining the health and well-being of your children is our primary mission. Critical to this mission, is routine vaccination.  Vaccination is one of the most important steps that can be taken to keep a child healthy and safe, and is used worldwide.  We adhere to the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Advisory Council on Immunization Practices, and the Center for Disease Control.  It is because of our firm beliefs in the importance of immunization that we have decided to no longer accept any new patients to the practice who choose not to vaccinate, or who choose to widely deviate from the standard immunization schedule.

The very few current patients who wish not to immunize are required to sign the Forestream Pediatrics Refusal to vaccinate document if they wish to remain patients of the practice.

Delaying, spacing or skipping vaccines increases the risk to your child of sickness, disability or even death.

Vaccines have been studied for well over 200 years and have been used globally.  Many parents argue that "according to their research" they have concerns about vaccines.  Remember that there have been thousands upon thousands of vaccination studies that support their safe use. The schedule and the combination by which they are given have been scientifically studied and scrutinized to allow for maximal efficacy with minimal risk to the patient.

It is one of the most incredible inventions in human history that we have been privileged to use.  We are fortunate to not have lived in an era during which these now preventable diseases were rampant,  and so this has made some people develop a false sense of security that they are unnecessary.

All vaccines used in our office are preservative free.
